ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A COMPLETED NPICE WAIVER ON FILE.

(Parents must sign waivers for ages 18 and under; proof of age may be required.)

Played similar to hockey in tennis shoes or boots–no skates

6 players on the ice per team with one as goalie is recommended.

·      All players and officials must wear helmets (with facemasks for players).

·      No body-checking

·      No hitting people with sticks

·      No raising sticks above the waist to hit the ball

·      Penalties are given for tripping, slashing etc. (use hockey rules) or anything else giving one team or player an unfair advantage.

·      A penalty results in a “free” shot* awarded to the offended player…

*”Free” Shot:  The ball is placed approximately15-feet in front of the goal.  Up to three players (known as Rebounders) from each team can line up just beyond and behind the Shooter—watch out for the shooter’s stick when he shoots.  The offended player (Shooter) shoots the ball at the goal (trying to score a goal).  If the goalie blocks the shot the game is on and the Rebounders may play the live ball.  If the Shooter scores a point is counted and followed by a faceoff at center ice.

To start play:  A face off is conducted near the center of the playing ice to start the game and after each goal.  If the goalie freezes or catches the ball, opposing players must move at least10-feet away and upon signal of the referee the goalie can throw the ball or hit it with his stick in any direction except directly into the other team’s goal.

The feet or stick may be used to propel the ball forward, but a goal is only allowed when propelled by the use of the stick (deflections off the body shall be allowed).

Game Time/Finishing the game: The length of the game is determined by how many minutes are available on the ice.  At the half-way point of the allotted time the whistle is blown and a 2-minute rest is taken.  The teams switch nets (direction of play on the ice) and continue play as established above.

At the end of the 2nd half the team with the most goals wins.  Ties may be broken by a shoot-out—use “Free” shot with no Rebounders.
