SUMMARY:Trail Trek Guided Hike: Buffalo Bill Ranch
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park for the fifth in a series of guided hikes as a part of this year’s Your Parks Adventure: Trail Trek program!\nJoin Jeff Barnes\, Nebraska historian and author of The Great Plains Guide to Buffalo Bill\, for an insightful and informative tour of Buffalo Bill Cody’s home property. This property is a National Historic Landmark and the walking tour will discuss the mansion\, horse barn\, several outbuildings\, Duck Pond\, as well as other historic features of the property. A Buffalo Bill impersonator will be on hand and Barnes will sign purchased copies of his book.\nThe tour will be approximately half a mile on level ground.\nThis event is free and open to the public\, but a valid state park vehicle permit is required for park entry.

SUMMARY:Scholarship Clay Shoot
DESCRIPTION:The Course\nTen shooting stations are arranged in various locations on the course. Each shooter will shoot at a total of 100 rocks from inside these stations. Teams are made up of 4 shooters who move from station to station until they have completed the course. \nShooting Stations\nEach station has two completely different ‘presentations’ which are thrown from remote controlled ‘throwers’ but all have an instruction card telling: \n\nhow many rocks will be thrown (10 rocks)\ndescribing the ‘presentation’ of the rocks (i.e. left to right\, incoming\, overhead\, rabbit\, etc.)\nwhether the rocks will be thrown as ‘true pairs’\, ‘report pairs’.\n\nWhen a shooter is ready\, he steps into the station (gun unloaded)\, chambers his shells\, takes his gun off ‘Safe’\, then calls for the rocks by saying ‘Pull’. DESCRIPTION:Join us for Community Fishing Night at Iron Horse Lake! \nHosted by Nebraska Game and Parks\, community fishing events are held at venues across the state each spring and summer. \nLook for the Family Fishing Trailer\, where loaner rods and reels\, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. Fishing Instructors are also available to provide helpful tips and answer questions. This is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages who have never been fishing or haven’t fished for years to learn. \nAll participants ages 16 and older need a fishing license.
