DESCRIPTION:June is PTSD Awareness Month\, and no one fights alone. Join the American Legion Post #163 and your local fitness family for this unique and inspiring event! \n“Rucking” is the sport of walking\, running\, or hiking with a weighted backpack or vest. For this event\, choose between two races styles (rucking with a pack or weighted vest\, or running with no pack) and two distances (12 or 6 miles). \nThis event starts and finishes at Peg Leg Brewing in North Platte\, and will be run primarily on portions of the NP Trails Network. Race day registration is 7:00 a.m. Presentation of colors at 8:00 a.m. The start time of both ruck and run will be at 8:30 a.m. Overall winners get free entry into the next year’s event. Half-marathon participants are bussed from the gathering point at Arthur School to the starting line of the race\, and run on an oil strip course through rolling hills and gorgeous scenery.
