DESCRIPTION:Sign up for Lifeguard training and work for the City of North Platte!\n\n\nLifeguards at Cody Pool and the Rec Center are required to be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding\, and these classes fulfill that requirement!\n\n\nHiring for morning\, daytime\, evening\, and weekend positions with competitive pay.\n\n\nLIFEGUARDS NEEDED! \nUpcoming Lifeguard Training Dates forCity of North Platte Lifeguard Applicants: \nSeptember/October 2025 ClassSept. 27th & 28th and Oct. 4th & 5th8AM–5PM(Must attend all 4 class sessions) \nNovember 2025 ClassNovember 15th\, 16th\, 22nd\, & 23rd8AM–5PM(Must attend all 4 class sessions) \n\nCost: $175 \nRequirements: \n\n\nMust be 15 years old by the last day of class \n\n\nMust pass class prerequisites to participate in class (American Red Cross Lifeguarding Prerequisites on back of page) \n\n\nMust attend ALL in-person class times \n\n\nFor enrollment contact John Guethlein\, Aquatic Director: \n(308) 535-6772 | guethleinjg@northplattene.gov \nAmerican Red Cross Lifeguarding Prerequisites: \nIn order to participate in the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training you must: \n\n\nSwim-Tread-Swim Sequencea. Swim 150 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke\, or a combination of both.i. Swimming on the back or side is not permitted.ii. Swim goggles are allowed.b. Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.c. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl\, breaststroke\, or a combination of both. \n\n\nTimed Event (Complete within 1 minute\, 40 seconds)a. Starting in the water\, swim 20 yards.i. The face may be in or out of the water.ii. Swim goggles are NOT allowed.b. Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.c. Return to surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point\, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face at or near the surface.d.
