Cody Park Softball Complex

Carpenter Softball Complex has 4 lighted adult softball diamonds. Diamonds are used throughout the year for league play through the North Platte Rec Center. All diamonds have lighted scoreboards. The complex includes central facilities building with restrooms, storage, concession stand and upper level scorekeeping area.

Dowhower Softball Complex

Complex of 5 diamonds, central facilities building with restrooms, storage, concession stand and upper level scorekeeping area. All diamonds have lighted scoreboards. Diamonds are used throughout the year for league play through the Platte Valley Girls’ Softball Association.

Palmer Park (Brady)

Legion size, lighted Softball/Baseball field with covered dugouts.

Sutherland Ball Field

One baseball diamond with covered dugouts and announcers stand, and one softball diamond.

3/8-mile dirt track, smaller oval inside larger oval covered grandstand, concession area with seating for 2,500 and concession facilities. Inside the big track is the 1/10-mile Jr Go-Kart race track for youth.

Lake Maloney

Jaycee Park – East side of Lake Maloney, North of South Beach. Short 1500 – 1800 ft, 9-hole course on the shore of Lake Maloney. Mostly flat, lightly wooded.

Lake Maloney Golf Club

LMGC is an 18-hole semi-private golf course; yet open to daily public play with practice facilities. Each hole is equipped with four to five sets of tees, playing from 4,000 to 7,000 yards in length. The golf course is water hole free, with rolling terrain blended between traditional and links style design, thus is appealing to golfers of all skill levels. Concessions are available.

Rivers Edge Golf Course

With new ownership and revamped greens River’s Edge is a public 18-hole golf course. A par 71 course, River’s Edge is level with a mix of old and young trees and a creek that is integrated through the course, along with new ponds & water features throughout.

Iron Eagle Golf Course

The 18-hole “Iron Eagle” course at the Iron Eagle Municipal Golf Course facility in North Platte, Nebraska features 6,401 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 70.8 and it has a slope rating of 120 on Blue grass. Designed by Patrick H. Wyss, the Iron Eagle golf course opened in 1994. Concessions are available.

Indian Meadows Golf Course

The 9-hole “Indian Meadows” course at the Indian Meadows Golf Course facility in North Platte, Nebraska features 3,250 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. The course rating is 35 and it has a slope rating of 114. Indian Meadows Golf Course opened in 1978. Concessions are available.

Oregon Trail Golf Course (Sutherland)

The 9-hole “Oregon Trail” course at The Oregon Trail Golf course facility in Sutherland, Nebraska features all the hallmarks of Nebraska golf. Oregon Trail golf course opened in 1955. Concessions are available.

• Dawg House: 10 baskets; 1 regulation volleyball and basketball court that can be split into 3 regulation volleyball and basketball side courts. Seating for 2,279.
• Dawg Pound: 1 regulation volleyball and basketball court. Seating for 250.

The Beef Barn is a large, versatile building suitable for everything from cattle and equipment auctions to big concerts. Main space is 90’ x 85.5’, with dirt or turf floor in main arena area. Electricity, heating, gates, pens, and bleachers available for seating with access to outdoor block restroom facilities.

Cody Park Swimming Pool

Olympic sized pool- 50 M, 10 lane pool with a diving well. Seating for 200, locker rooms with showers, and concession facilities.

Jeffrey Canyon Reservoir (Brady)

Jeffrey Lake, south of Brady, has 595 surface acres with more than 120 cabins and homes and numerous recreational opportunities. Jeffrey Lake also serves as fish and wildlife habitat. Since the Supply Canal carries water throughout the year, the area is a magnet for a wide variety of aquatic birds, fish and mammals. The Lake is plentiful with Big and Small mouth Bass, Walleye, Crappies, Catfish and other indigenous species. Winter remains an opportunity for the public to watch bald eagles that congregate along the canal below the hydro plant to catch fish. Jeffrey Lake also serves as a midway stop for the Sandhill Crane during their annual migration south.

Lake Maloney

Lake Maloney is approximately 6 miles south of North Platte. The 1132-acre State Recreation Area has 56 camping pads with 30-amp electrical hook-ups and 200 non-pad sites without electricity. There is a shower facility, dump station, and a swimming beach. Boat ramps, 2 fish cleaning stations, picnic tables, grills and vault toilets are also available. Camping is first come, first served. Distance around the lake is 9 miles. A Nebraska Game and Parks day or season pass is required for entry into NGPC areas.

Maranatha Camp

Fishing, water skiing, kayaks, canoes, 250-foot water trampoline, 40-acre lake, outdoor swimming pool, locker rooms with showers and concession facilities.

North Platte Rec Center

25-yard, 6 lane pool, 12-foot diving well offers one-meter and three-meter diving boards. Seating for 50, showers and concession facilities.

Supply Canal

The canal, which carries water year-round, and the canyon lakes are used for hunting, hiking, canoeing, camping and fishing. The public is permitted to use the entire length of the canal for recreational purposes.

Sutherland Reservoir

The Sutherland Reservoir is a 3,000-surface-acre lake located three miles south of the Interstate 80 Exit at Sutherland, Neb. A Nebraska Game and Parks day or season pass is required for entry into NGPC areas. Primitive campsites are located on the east and west sides of the lake, while private camping area with electrical hook-ups and a nine-hole golf course are located along the north shore. Four boat launching ramps and two swimming areas are available. NPPD maintains a roost and perch tree protection program for eagles and — during the winter months — bird watchers can observe numerous wintering American Bald Eagles. Species include channel catfish, walleye, white bass, wiper, yellow perch, freshwater drum. All boats are allowed; there is a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier available at the inlet. Hunting: Dove, Pheasant, Waterfowl.

Dusty Trails River Outfitting

Dusty Trails is North Platte’s premier river outfitter offering a variety of excursions in tubes, canoes, kayaks, as well as tanks. Floats down the North Platte River can last anywhere from 2 hours to all day depending on how long you want it to last. Because the tanks are pretty much untippable and unsinkable they’re an ideal way for groups of all ages to get down the river safely.

North Platte River

Floating the river can take a whole day or just little while depending on currents, where you put in and how hard you feel like paddling, but a leisurely float down the river will give anyone with a sharp eye a great opportunity to see a variety of wildlife including deer and wild turkey. Put in points on the river include the North River WMA north of Hershey for people looking for a longer float (up to 6 hours) as well as Buffalo Bill Ranch and Cody Park in North Platte. Take out points are at Buffalo Bill Ranch, Cody Park, and Highway 30.

1,850 square foot building with main space measuring 30’ x 96’. Has small kitchen for concession facilities, table, chairs, and restrooms with shower stalls. Suitable for smaller celebrations, meeting, and other gatherings.
